5 Reasons Your Bible Is Missing 22 Books (And The One Bible On Earth That Still Has Them All)

From a Monk of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church

Trained in Ge’ez and the ancient manuscripts

READ THIS BEFORE What follows was not written by a Western scholar. It is a letter from inside the oldest unbroken Christian tradition on earth, written for anyone who has felt their Bible was not complete.

If you have been reading your Bible for years and still feel something is missing, you are not imagining it.

You did everything you were told to do. You read it cover to cover. You bought the study edition. You downloaded the apps. You asked your pastor about Jude 14, about the sons of God in Genesis 6, about the giants before the flood. He changed the subject. Your commentary skipped the page.

That feeling is not a weakness in your faith. It is your faith recognizing that something was taken from it.

What follows is not opinion. It is five pieces of recorded history that the Western church would rather you never read in one place. Then I will show you the one Bible on earth that was never touched by the hands that did the cutting.

1. The Bible You Read Isn't The One Jesus Read

Jesus quoted books that aren't in your Bible.

Not once. Constantly.

When he called himself the "Son of Man" over 80 times, he was quoting the Book of Enoch. That title comes from 1 Enoch chapters 37 to 71.

Your Bible doesn't include the book he was quoting.

Then there's Jude. Jesus' own brother. His letter is still in your New Testament.

Jude 1:14-15 quotes the Book of Enoch by name. Word for word from 1 Enoch 1:9.

Jude quoted Enoch. Your Bible kept Jude and cut Enoch.

The receipt is in your own scripture. You just don't have the source.

2. King James Cut Books To Protect His Throne, Not Your Soul

The Bible you trust is named after a king.

Not an apostle. Not a prophet. A king.

King James I never met Jesus. He was born 1,600 years too late.

Before he ever authorized a verse, he wrote Daemonologie, a manual for identifying and killing witches.

During his reign, an estimated 2,500 people, mostly women, were burned as witches on his authority.

Then he came for the name of God.

In the Hebrew text, Yahweh appears over 6,000 times. The personal name. The name a father answers to.

King James ordered every single one of them replaced with four capital letters: LORD. The same word a slave used for his master. The same word a peasant used for his king.

In one edit, Yahweh stopped being a name and became a title. A throne you kneel before instead of a voice that walks beside you.

That is what your Bible still says today. Open it. Count the LORDs. Every one of them was a Yahweh before 1611.

The name was only the start. Here is what else he changed:
• He rewrote Exodus 22:18. The Hebrew says "poisoner." His Bible says "witch." He edited scripture to justify the burnings.
• He stripped the marginal notes. The old Geneva Bible criticized tyrant kings. He called that "seditious." His Bible has no notes.
• He cut books his committee found inconvenient.

Then in 1826, a British printing society cut it further. Down to 66 books. To save paper.

That's the version most Christians read today.

3. The Councils That Cut Your Bible Were Politicians First

Long before King James, the cutting started.

397 AD. Council of Carthage. A room of bishops voted on what stayed and what got cut.
• Enoch, cut.
• Jubilees, cut.
• Meqabyan, cut.
• Life of Adam and Eve, cut.
• Ascension of Isaiah, cut.

22 books. One afternoon. Voted out by men appointed by an emperor.

Then the councils kept going. Rome. Hippo. Trent in 1546. Westminster in 1647.

Each one narrowed the canon further.

Your 66-book Bible isn't the "original." It's the fourth edit of the fourth edit.

And Ethiopia wasn't in any of those rooms.

4. The New Testament Quotes The Books They Told You Weren't Scripture

This is the receipt that ends every argument.

Open your Bible. Any translation. Turn to Jude 14.

“Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men…”

That’s a direct quote from 1 Enoch 1:9.

Every scholar admits this. Even the ones defending the Protestant canon.

Now turn to Jude 9. Michael arguing with Satan over the body of Moses. That story is nowhere in your Old Testament. It’s from the Testament of Moses. Another “banned” book.

Now think about who else quoted these books:
• Jesus used the Son of Man title (from Enoch).
• Jude quoted Enoch directly.
• Peter referenced the Watchers narrative (from Enoch).
• Tertullian, Origen, Clement of Alexandria. Every early church father.

The apostles read these books. Then a council in 397 AD cut them out.

If Enoch was good enough for Jesus, who is a council of politicians to say it’s not good enough for you?

5. One Country Never Bowed. Their Bible Is Still Complete.

Ethiopia converted to Christianity in 330 AD.

50 years before Rome made it official. Before the councils. Before the edits. Before King James was born.

And Ethiopia never bowed.

Never conquered by Rome. Never controlled by the Vatican. Never colonized by Europe.

Their 88-book canon has been preserved for 1,600 years. Ge'ez manuscripts. Hand-copied. Uninterrupted.

Then in 1947, a shepherd found jars in a cave near Qumran. The Dead Sea Scrolls.

Inside:
• 11 copies of the Book of Enoch, in Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke.
• 14 copies of the Book of Jubilees, more than most Old Testament books.
• Copies of Tobit. Sirach. Every "removed" book.

Archaeology proved what Ethiopia had been saying for 1,600 years.

Ethiopia never edited.
